Let's face it...
You. Are. Alone.
Or, at least, that's what you've tricked yourself into believing due to the constant reminders of this seemingly depressing reality. Couples, couples everywhere. They surround you, kissing, holding hands, or just laughing and enjoying each other's company. Cute couple pictures pop up everywhere on all your friend's social media feeds as you scroll through at home, feeling as though you have no life, and begrudgingly hit the "like" button (#relationshipgoals).
But you don't have to feel this way. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being single! In fact, there are many benefits to living the single life and I have listed ten of them below.
1. You don't have to worry about someone else.
You're your own person and you make your own decisions!
2. You don't always have to dress to impress.
Jeans or sweatpants and a sweatshirt are always the perfect choice.
3. You don't have to ever feel jealous.
You don't have to worry if someone's hitting on your significant other because you don't have a significant other and you don't need to worry about anyone cheating on you or breaking your heart.
4. You get to spend more time with your BFFs.
And there's not another person competing for your attention.
5. You can date as many people as you want.
You can get to know what you like in a significant other without being bound to just one person who can possible not be the right one for you.
6. You don't have to share your food.
It's all yours to enjoy.
7. You can focus on important things.
You can concentrate on school or your job without having to worry about spending time with someone else.
8. You don't have to worry about having friends of the opposite gender.
And you especially don't have to worry about your significant other complaining about it. There's no jealousy on their part because they're nonexistent.
9. Choices like college or what you can wear is on you.
It's your life and your choice and there's no one there to complain about those choices.
10. You have your own alone time.
...and you're perfectly okay with that! You don't need someone else to complete you. You're comfortable being by yourself at times and you find confidence without someone by your side.
