When Halloween comes around, there's always tons of awesome costumes. I saw so many really creative funny, scary, and cool costumes. But I also saw a lot of the same costumes. So here's my list of the most popular and overused costumes for Halloween 2016.
1. Harley Quinn
So this character has been around forever but it's only been recently that EVERYONE has learned her name. When the beautiful Margot Robbie portrayed her in the movie "Suicide Squad" that came out this summer, we all knew every girl was going to want to be her for Halloween. But can we blame anyone for wanting to look like Margot Robbie??
2. Snapchat Filters
So all the different filters you can use on snapchat are really cool. But I saw a lot of girls who took the filters to real life and to actually be a snapchat filter as a costume. They usually wore all yellow and then whatever filter they were being on there face and head. Some of these include: flower crown, dog, deer, and that yellow butterfly one. A cool idea maybe but very overused this year.
3. Deer
I'm not sure why but it was very popular to be this wooden creature this year. I saw tons of girls with their hair twisted in two little buns and cute deer makeup. It's a cute costume it was just very overused this year.
4. Alien
This is another one that I don't know why but it was used a lot this year. Tons of people wore literally metallic or glittery anything and called it extraterrestrial. Go on Instagram right now I guarantee you'l find an alien or two.
5. Nerd
This is just an easy one that is used every year. Grab a button down, some suspenders, glasses, and a tie and you can call yourself a nerd. It's quick and easy but it's not a lot of fun. I can't throw too much shade though because I was a nerd last year.
6. Angel
This is just a pretty easy costume people do every year. I saw so many angels everywhere I looked. It's a nice costume, I guess. It's just 100% overused every year.
7. Devil
This is the girl or guy that is hanging out with the Angel usually...or at least taking a picture for Instagram with them. This is another pretty basic costume but I've seen a lot of different renditions of it so in that way it's cool.
8. Vampire
This is just a basic last minute costume. Usually someone wearing all black with "blood" around their mouths or on the clothes. The exception, however is when someone actually goes all out and makes this costume look really cool. Those people know who they are and they are exempt from this list. Good effort.
9. Athlete
"What are you gonna be for Halloween?" "Lazy."
10. EARS or some other headpiece
We all know they guys and girls who wear all black or whatever they want and then wear ears or a hat. They know they look like they didn't try and they don't care. We don't have time for these people.
