My Top 10 Favorite Musicals

Musicals are the greatest piece of theatre art known to mankind. They are full of catchy songs and crazy drama. Most Musicals teach lessons but some have no point whatsoever. They have become a big part of our culture, and I'm definitely okay with that. My top 10 favorite musicals are too pure to list, so I will put them in poem, Dr. Seuss style.

We will start with my number one pick. This musical did not make sense, but it made me kind of like Cats! I learned all the dances and the words to the songs. And I even made my parents sing along!
My second favorite musical was better than okay. The characters welcomed us to the 60's in the hit show Hairspray! Tracy Turnblad and her friends fought for diversity. We all should share that kind of love in our own cities!
The third favorite is a must and it showed how groovy an adaptation really is. Let us ease on down the road and gladly meet The Wiz! The movie was wonderful and the live performance was better than okay, but nothing can compare to the original play!
My fourth is all about the hand jive and good high school dance scenes, when Grease is the word, that's all you need!
The fifth musical consists of a girl group, great music, and fabulous pearls. We cannot forget about the phenomenal Dream Girls! Those wigs were out of sight, my sixth favorite is also just right.
Hamilton is a new musical with great singers and awesome comedy. Based on the story of Hamlet, it's also a great dramedy!
My seventh favorite is one that you may not know, Legally Blonde the Musical was definitely the way to go. The movie showed that you cannot really judge a book by its cover and the musical fed off of that, with great tunes and bomb choreography, it was a perfect class act!
This eighth show was a blast to watch and also a blast sing along to! Wicked was wickedly good and inspiring too! Those witches really told a story and tried to understand each other, kind of like my next favorite musical, that involves music listened to by your mother.
Motown is the sound and my ninth favorite musical of all time. The way the story captured the sound of the greatest artists that have ever lived, really blew my mind! Some of the characters looked and sound just like the geniuses behind the music!
My final favorite musical is all about not be tardy, because this production was A Wild Wild Party! This musical gave us tunes like "Life of the Party" and "Queenie is a Blonde" I promise you this musical was the bomb!

There you have it, folks! My top 10 favorite musicals of all time. These shows made me think, laugh, cry, and dance. I enjoyed every minute of them.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
