In honor of the sixth "American Horror Story" premiere, a reflection of the past five seasons is completely necessary. Ryan Murphy (the genius creator behind "Glee" and "Scream Queens") has managed to create a plethora of memorable characters, but some are definitely better than others. As a die-hard fan of the show, I decided to discuss a few of my favorites. Feel free to comment below and include some of your favorite AHS characters.
*Disclaimer: For those of you who have not seen the full five seasons of the show, be warned. There are spoilers.*
10. Iris
As the desk clerk of the Hotel Cortez, Iris stood as a pivotal figure in the "American Horror Story: Hotel" cast. The heartbroken mother began to voluntarily commit suicide to be reunited with her deceased son. My poor heart...
9. Ben Harmon
Dylan McDermott is a beautiful human. (Okay, I know that this is supposed to be about characters, but it had to be said.) As an unfaithful husband and devoted father, Ben Harmon definitely battled his inner demons during the first season of "American Horror Story," but I would definitely love to his his face on screen again.
8. Misty Day
She worships Stevie Nicks. How could I not love Misty Day? In "American Horror Story: Coven," Misty discovers that she has the power of resurrection. She saves the lives of living creatures but eventually succumbs to her unending need to protect the weak. Her morals definitely reserve Misty a spot on my list.
7. Pepper
We are introduced to Pepper in Asylum, but we grow to love her in "American Horror Story: Freak Show." When she was abandoned in an orphanage at a young age, your heart broke for her innocent soul. But, when her husband Salty passed away as a result of his condition, your soul cracked in half. Who is with me?
6. Dr. Oliver Thredson
This psychopath's habit of skinning women is a tad creepy, but Dr. Thredson's storyline is the highlight of "American Horror Story: Asylum." His name is Bloody-Face, and he definitely doesn't care what anyone thinks about him. A serial killer posing psychologist is the best plot twist.
5. Dandy Mott
Ah, I love the smell of psychopaths in the morning. Dandy Mott's spoiled and self-centered nature combines with his murderous thirst to create an unstoppable force in "American Horror Story: Freak Show." He trains the art of killing by shadowing a serial-killing clown. Craziness.
4. Myrtle Snow
If you know me, you should be fully aware that I am partial to the crimped hair. Plus, Myrtle Snow is the best mentor that any blossoming witch could possibly wish for in life.
3. Cordelia Foxx
Who knew that the weakling of the Coven would eventually become the next Supreme? She mastered the seven wonders, kicked-out a cheating husband, and created an unbeatable academy. Cordelia Foxx epitomizes the ideas of strength and resilience.
2. Nora Montgomery
From her period clothing to her elitist attiude, Nora Montgomery adds a necessary flair to the first season of "American Horror Story." She only wants to have child revived, and she will do absolutely anything to quench that desire. Also, the bullet hole in the back of her head is a fabulous touch.
1. Fiona Goode
Jessica Lange will always be THE Supreme. Seriously. Bow down to the Queen of film, television, and stage. She has earned the respect. Plus, "American Horror Story" has not been the same since her departure.
Enjoy the new season, AHS-lovers! I can't wait to see what surprises Ryan Murphy has in store for us this year. #AHS4Life
