Top 10 Dorm Room Needs

With college move-ins right around the corner, here are my top ten dorm room must haves!

10. Bath mats

These will make your life so much easier! If you have a shower that overflows, it will keep the floors dryer. Mats are super cheap and easy to replace if they stain!

9. Bedding

This is a must! Bring something that not only expresses yourself, but it will keep you warm and comfy!

8. Shower Caddy

Caddies are super helpful if you are in a community bathroom. Again, a really cheap item to relive stress.

7. Additional Lighting

While overhead lights are great, additional lighting like lamps are super helpful. If your room mate likes little lighting, this will keep both of you happy.

6. Extra Chairs

Trust me from experience, desk chairs are uncomfortable. Buy yourself a few other chairs, like bean bags or moon chairs. They are great for movie watching too!

5. Hangers

Even if they don't mean to, your room mate will use your hangers. Grab a few extras! Maybe color coordinate as well!

4. Microwave

A chef's best friend in college. If you get tired of cafeteria food, make sure you have access to a microwave. Make sure it is the appropriate power level as well!

3. Mini Fridge

Another hugely important kitchen item. Coordinate with your roommate on who will bring the fridge and who will bring the microwave!

2. A TV

This is more of an optional item, but I HIGHLY recommend it! TVs are a great way to bring new friends to your room.

1. Photos

Decorate your space with photos! They are great mementos of home and the amazing memories you will make this semester!

Hope you enjoyed my list! This semester will be awesome!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
