Television has evolved in many ways throughout the years. From the number of channels to the content broadcasted, the changes can be seen by any viewer. Disney Channel is not exempt from this. Growing up through the evolution of Disney shows, my childhood was shaped by the characters teaching lessons of old and new. Here are my top 10 Disney Channel shows from 2000 to 2010:
10. "Even Stevens" (2000-2003)
Who can’t relate to two siblings and their clashing personalities?
9. "American Dragon: Jake Long" (2005-2007)
How does one balance being a kid and a dragon?
8. "The Proud Family" (2001-2005)
Penny Proud and her friends were the original #squadgoals.
7. "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody" (2005-2008)
Forget having my own bedroom, I want to live in a hotel suite.
6. "That’s So Raven" (2003-2007)
Best ways to get through high school: witty humor, fashion sense, and the ability to see a glimpse of the future.
5. "Hannah Montana" (2006-2011)
Just a pop star trying to live a normal life—don’t hate, the songs were catchy and #friendgoals were strong.
4. "Good Luck Charlie" (2010-2014)
Anyone with many siblings can relate to this show. Every laugh came from the heart because it was like laughing at the experiences in your own life.
3. "Wizards of Waverly Place" (2007-2012)
Alex – played by Selena Gomez – and her witty, sarcastic charm made every episode more interesting.
2. "Lizzie McGuire" (2001-2004)
Every tween and teen girl could relate to Lizzie McGuire. From crushing hard on a boy to quarrels with bullies, life according to Lizzie was the closest show to reality.
1. "Kim Possible" (2002-2007)
Typical teen girl by day, foiling villains’ plans by night. What girl wouldn’t want to be like Kim Possible? Can’t forget that catchy theme song too – call me, beep me if ya wanna reach me.
