Find yourself looking to find the perfect inexpensive gift for Christmas or a secret Santa? Well, here are ten easy inexpensive present ideas.

  • A craft basket. If a person is into crafts, you can get them a basket filled with ribbon, paper, stencils, and a craft kit. This is a great inexpensive way to please someone who is crafty. They will appreciate the fact that you encourage crafting.
  • A “keep warm” basket for the winter. You can put a cheap blanket in the basket, a mug, hot chocolate, and a pair of warm fuzzy socks! I mean who doesn’t love warn fuzzy socks anyway?! This basket is a simple and easy win.
  • Something sentimental. So you might be struggling with what to get for a loved one. Well sentimental is always meaningful. You can get a picture frame, put a picture in it and write a meaningful card to go with it. You can customize jewelry, picture frames, and even blocks of wood. Depending on how much customization is needed it can be fairly inexpensive.
  • A fragrance package. These are usually inexpensive around the holidays. Stick to simple scents if you do not know the person’s preference. Something common such as Vanilla, or something mildly sweet. You want to make sure you stick with something that is mild. Let’s be honest, no one wants to receive a super strong perfume for a present. If it is too strong they’ll never wear it.
  • Food. This should be self-explanatory, but here are some ideas anyway. Chocolate, popcorn balls, peanut brittle, peppermint bark, and pretzels or chips. Food is a great idea because everyone gets hungry at some point. Even if they aren’t super hungry, most of the time people will find something to snack on. Plus, if you know a food that the person you are buying for really likes, you are all ready to go.
  • A scarf or gloves. I’ve found that throughout the years, scarves and gloves always happen to go missing. So this is a very cheap way to help someone stay warm in winter. If you keep the gift receipt and give it to them, they can always return it if they do not like it.
  • Jewelry or a watch. Most people love receiving jewelry or a watch. One can either look super nice and accessorized or make sure they are stylish and on time.
  • Candles. Everyone loves candles. So why not get a candle to help put people right into the season. They have a lot of new creative candles. I’m sure there’s one out there for everyone.
  • Stuffing stockings. This is pretty simple. For this present all you need is a cheap stocking and stocking sized stuff. Whatever fits goes! Simple enough, right?
  • Making your own snow globe. You can get a make your own clear ornament, put a picture inside, buy some fake snow, and detail it however you like.

Hopefully these present ideas will help resolve some confusion and help ease your mind this Christmas season. Your cheap, affordable presents will be loved.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
