Because of recent events that have occurred in my life, death is something that has been a prevalent thought over the past year. I am writing this article dedicated to the ones who have passed throughout my life, as well as ones who are struggling with the possibility of death each day.
Death is something that, unfortunately, happens every day to many people across the world. Death can sometimes be expected, assumed, or a complete surprise. No matter the timing and preparation, death is never an easy situation to deal with.
As we live our everyday lives, death is not something we should be fixated on, but it is something we should keep in the back of our minds. When you go throughout your day and someone does or says something that makes you mad, you need to remind yourself how minuscule that problem truly is. If you get into an argument with one of your parents, do not say or do something you will regret because you don't know if they will wake up the next morning.
Throughout my life, death has never been easy but it has made me who I am today. Death has taught me to be patient, kind, considerate and faithful. It has taught me to treat others the way I would want to be treated. It has matured me in the aspect of realizing how small my problems are compared to others. There are so many more important things in life to worry about than waiting in a long line at the DMV, someone getting your food order wrong, or playing poorly in an athletic event. Always remember that there is someone out in this world who would kill to walk a mile in your shoes.
In our hectic world today, people need to take a step away from their computers, phones and tablets to look at the bigger picture of life. Life is a precious gift that is only given to us once. Tomorrow is never a promise for yourself or any of the people around you. Do not take even one day for granted because you truly never know when it could be your last.
