To the person who will call my house home…
Climb in the crab apple tree, it’s the easiest to climb and the best place to sit. Keep that deck off the kitchen, my grandpa built that; it’s still here and now he’s gone. Sit on that back patio and enjoy the view, I wish I’d done that more. That bedroom in the basement was my 13th birthday present, and I loved that room. The closet in that bedroom is probably the best place in the world to experience heartbreak, it’s seen plenty of my tears. Just so you know, the vents carry sound to the whole house, so don’t talk on the phone too loudly. The bathroom in the basement might be small but it’s perfect, my dad and I designed that together. The backyard is great for running or throwing a ball for your dog (P.S. I hope you have a dog because that dog door needs to be put to good use). Enjoy that kitchen, it’s a great place for dance parties. If you haven’t noticed, my mom really likes the color green and she painted the whole house with it. She also happened to make this place a home for the last 17 years. Also, the mail always come super late. My mom loves the wallpaper in the master. And my dad loves that back porch. That room upstairs has seen plenty of laughs and games. The dining room has seen plenty of family dinners and talks. This house has seen plenty of love.
I was lucky enough to call this place home for the past 17 years. I’ve lived and loved here. But I’m realizing that it isn’t the place but the people that make a home. It’s hard to say goodbye to this beautiful home of mine, but I hope you make just as many memories as I have here.
