To The Person Who I Love Most

You are what every one needs in this life, simply a hero - and not all heroes wear capes.

To The Person Who I Love Most
"All the best heroes are ordinary people who make themselves extraordinary." Gerard Way

In case I never told you how much you mean to me and how much you have affected my life... here are some of the top reasons why you are my hero and why I could not have made it through this crazy life without you.

1. You never give up on me.

I may mess up in school, make some of the wrong decisions, not listen to what you have told me, but yet, you never give up on me and keep pushing me forward and loving me always.

2. You always listen to me.

God knows that I could go on for hours ranting about my day or absolutely nothing at all, but you take it ever so elegantly and take it all in and embrace my tears of overwhelming emotion with a hug.

3. You have the best advice.

You have been around a little bit longer than I have, so you have experienced life a little bit more than me. You don't mind admitting what you have done wrong or what you wish you would have done differently in the past. Instead, you share those things with me to make sure that I make better decisions and a better life.

4. You are never first.

You are a Godly person, that always puts others before yourself. Whether it is me, someone from church, a stranger, or even a kitten on the side of the road. You never fail to make sure that others are taken care of before yourself. You are so humble. You truly make the world a better place.

5. You surprise me with presents.

Whether it is because I am having a bad day, gone through a breakup, or just because. You like to spoil me and show me your love with your actions. You are so very thoughtful.

6. You are my best friend.

Even though there is such an age difference, even though I do not always make time for you like I should, even though there are a million reasons why you should have given up on me a long time ago, you are my best friend. You love me and I love you. You are my best friend, who holds all my secrets, knows everything about me. Through the good and the bad you still love me. And you are my best friend. I trust you with all my mistakes, good days and bad, and I know that you will care for me no matter what.

There are so many more things that I could tell you as to why you are my hero, but here's to name a few. Thank you for being my backbone, my number one supporter, my best friend, my shoulder to cry on, and my mom. I could not imagine not having you as my mom and best friend. Thank you for being all of these things for me and having endless forgiveness and forgiving me "seventy times seven!"

I simply love you.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
