​To The Person I Can't Spend The Holidays With
All Wishes

I Love You,

This would’ve been our first holiday season together, but you’re spending it with your family on vacation on an island. It hurts, I must say, to not be able to celebrate Hanukkah with you and Christmas with me and to spend New Year’s together… It’s depressing…

I imagined spending a night of Hanukkah with you and seeing a new side of traditions and religion and looking forward to you spending Christmas with me. It would’ve been a first for both of us, to spend the holidays with someone we love. But things happen and things come up. Some things are planned so far in advance or are a tradition themselves, and the holidays go on without you.

It’s not the same not seeing you every day. It’s not the same celebrating without you. Whether it was our first or not, I wanted you there for all the good things that come in life. I wanted you there for all the joy and cheer and happiness shared. I wanted you there for the surprises and the laughter. But like always, you’re never there for big things like this. You’re always with your own family. I hope you enjoy the holidays this year, but next year, I plan to spend it with you.
