Dear people moving on with their lives,
We all knew this time would come. After staying in this town our whole lives, which is basically a safety bubble, we are finally leaving. Everyone is going in different directions and leaving to chase after their dreams. College will be here in just a few months, yet there is so much to say and do before we officially leave the bubble.
Although it's sad to admit, we won't all be as close as we are now. We will make new friends, meet new people, and start relationships. Soon we won't be texting or Snapchatting the same people every day just to give an update on "how bored we are". We will be so caught up in our new, exciting lives that the past and our high school friends will fade into amazing memories.
Of course, when we come home for winter break and holidays we will all reconnect. But, something just won't be the same. We have seen each other almost every day for our whole lives, basically. I know some of you are reading this thinking, "I'll always stay in touch with ____." Sometimes life decides to get crazy and it's nearly impossible. If you really love someone enough, you both have to make the effort to stay close and keep the friendship alive. We are the generation of social media. We can make it work.
To those who I won't talk to anymore, believe it or not, you truly had some sort of impact on my life. Even if it was just as much as saying hi or giving a smile in the hallways, everything in perspective has an impact on our lives. We are still growing and learning, but for our whole lives up until now, we experienced so much together.
As I write this on my graduation day, it amazes me how much everyone has changed. It's crazy to think how successful my friends, and hopefully myself, will become. We are growing up so fast and there is no way to slow it down.
Class of 2016, have a wild, crazy and lovely life. Try to stay in touch or reach out to each other when in college. You never know what can happen! Can't wait for us all to start this new chapter of our lives.
