To The Man Who Will Hold My Heart

To The Man Who Will Hold My Heart

Since graduating high school a few years back and start college, I have known quite a few people who got engaged and married. They all post pictures and statuses about their partners and the lives they are embarking or sharing. This has made me realize the type of man who I want to be with for the rest of my life.

I have always been told to wait until the right man walks into my life because he will be the only one that won’t leave, hurt me, lie, and all the other qualities of an unhealthy relationship. The man who will love me and hold my heart is the man who should do the following:

Treat me as a princess and your equal.

My mom always says, "The right man will treat you like the Princess you are."

Show me that I mean everything to you. Shower me with your love, it doesn't have to be in gifts but in your presence in everything.

But, treat me as your partner and equal. We are sharing a life together, so remember that we are equals in every aspect.

Befriend my friends.

"They have accepted me for who I am."

Friends have been the ones that are the family I chose to be in my life. They know everything good, bad, and ugly thing about me. Their opinions matter because they only want what is best for me.

Love my family.

Family means everything. We all might not like each other at times, but at the end of the day, we are family.

You have to get the approval from everyone because they have been there since day one and love me unconditionally.

Hold me.

Every once in a while, I will have a bad day when everything just goes wrong or feel alone that is when you step in and just hold me. This is letting me know that you will be there no matter what.

Even hold me every night even when we are fighting to show one another that we love each other.

Push me to be better.

Everyone has things in their lives that they need to be/do better in.

Make me be want to be better, and I'll do the same.

Go on adventures with me.

Push me out of my box. Let's make memories.

They don't have to be expensive. Just having the two of us is enough.

Accept my flaws and quirks.

All of them even the crazy/weird ones. Let me be me. Don’t change me to fit in a box.

They will make you smile and laugh sometimes so enjoy and embrace them.

Love me.

Out of all from above, this one means the most. Tell me you love me every day.

The ones above all add up to being a true, deeply in love with one another. Never forget that the love we share.

You are the man that God placed in my life to share every mountain and valley. Encourage one another with our dreams and goals. Love the other like none before. Be there when the darkest days hit and the waters get rough. I want our marriage and friendship be the kind that our kids and the people around us strive to have.

You are my forever. I’m patiently waiting until the day you walk into my life. That will be the day my life will begin.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
