Hey you!

I first off want to start off by saying thank you. Thank you for choosing me out of millions of girls out there, but boy, I don't think you realize what you have gotten yourself into. I am not a side chick or just some girl you can pass the time with. If you are not in 100%, then you can kindly show yourself out of my life.

You will notice that I am shy at first. I do this because I don't want to scare you away with my craziness. I will play with your hair way more than I probably should and I will constantly tell you how much I love your face and will try my best not to stare at your butt for too long... but no promises. Also, you may notice a couple of sweatshirts and T-shirts missing. I may or may not have them back at my place...

I want to know everything about you down to the smallest detail. I know that we won't always have the same interests and that's ok. I will always be willing to do and watch things that interest you. I love to try new things, so if you like to play basketball, I will gladly sit and watch you play for hours cheering you on.

I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer. I promise I'm not being dumb to be funny or "cute", I can be extremely gullible at times. Please just laugh and kindly correct me if I am wrong.

I'm an extremely cheesy hopeless romantic. So be prepared for spontaneous adventures, taking tons of pictures together, car rides listening to High School Musical, and watching the sunset on the beach. I love the little things. I don't need expensive things. I would be happy with a single daisy. (If you get me an otter stuffed animal, I will propose to you on the spot.)

I ask you not to make me talk about my past relationships. They are in the past. Done and over with. I have learned from them and that is all that matters. Those jerks don't deserve for their names and what they have done to me leave my mouth.

You will notice that I question you a lot. Please don't take it personally. I have been cheated on, used, and disrespected by so many guys in the past. I've been so broken and I am terrified of it happening again. Please try not to get frustrated. I do have trust issues thanks to the jerks of the past. I have to test the waters and make sure you’re worthy of my trust. It’s nothing against you, so just please be patient. I am not an easy person to love, but if you are really serious about me then you will figure out the correct way to love me. I promise to help you along the way.

I don't expect to be your number 1 priority. I will never ask you to put me before your friends. Never. I understand that you need "guy time".

I promise to tell you how much I love you every day and to never take a single second with you for granted. I will always give you my undivided attention and be your biggest cheerleader. At any point you find this not working out, please come and talk to me. Don't just drop me on the spot or lead me on.

You should know that I take relationships seriously. The second we make things official, I am yours. Not 99.9% but 110%. I promise I will always be faithful to you because I know what it feels like to not be loved by someone you care so deeply about. If you are hurting, please don't be afraid to come and talk to me. I hate to see people upset or hurting. I want that smile that I fell for stay put forever. If I have to drive to you at 2 a.m, I will do just that.

Lastly, remember that I chose you too.

I can't wait to meet you and I really hope you do stick around!

Sincerely,

Your future girlfriend

P.S. I have an older brother, so if you break my heart or hurt me in any way, you will have to deal with him.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
