To the girls who feel like love never goes their way,
In life, you’re going to have many relationships. This is for the girls who seem to have no luck when it comes to these relationships, myself included. At times, it might seem like you’ll never find love, but from what I understand, the best kind of love comes when you least expect it. So there are a few things that you need to remember.
First and foremost, the Lord has a specific plan for YOU. Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you’, declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Put your trust in the Lord and focus on yourself, being comforted by the knowledge that the Lord has a plan. There are plenty of things to worry about besides having a relationship at the moment. Focus on school, have fun with your friends, spend time with family, and stop worrying.
Your relationships should bring you closer together in Christ. You should strive to build a strong foundation on Him before beginning to look for someone to share your life with. Psalms 46:5 says, “God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at the break of day.” Choosing someone who is strong in their Christian walk with the Lord, will help you to grow stronger in your own faith. Also, remember that marriage is the goal. There is no reason to date someone that you couldn’t see yourself marrying eventually.
This is not to say that you should give up hope in love, just that it is best to put trust in the Lord and to follow the plans he has laid before you. Be patient, and, in the meantime, strive to be a Proverbs 31 lady. There are many virtues of a Proverbs 31 lady, including faith, beauty, and service. Proverbs 31:25 says, “She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh without fear of the future.” We should strive to be what the Bible says is a “wife who is worth far more than rubies.” We want to be the best Christian women that we can be, so that someday, the Lord can send the best Christian men our way.
One final thing to keep in mind and possibly the most important is that we are all beautiful, even though sometimes, boys may not make us feel that way. 1 Peter 3:3-4, “Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.” What is on the inside is much more important and beautiful to the Lord, than anything that is on the outside. So love who you are, continue to be your kind, positive, loving, and caring self, and wait for the man who will care far more about your inner beauty. Don’t worry about what boys may see as beauty, instead, remember that in Song of Songs 4:7, the Lord says, “You are altogether beautiful, my darling, there is no flaw in you.” For outward beauty will fade with time, but inward beauty will last as long as you live and will shine through.
So, to the girls who feel like they are waiting for a relationship that is never going to happen, give it time, because the Lord has a special plan for each and every one of you, and that includes your dream guy.
