To the Girl Who Thinks She Wants to Adopt

Adopting can change your life.

To the Girl Who Thinks She Wants to Adopt,

Thank you.

Thank you for being selfless to want to love someone who isn’t your own flesh and blood. It takes a special person to open their heart to someone they barely know. Thank you for letting God use you in one of the most special ways possible. Whatever your reason is for adopting, it’s okay to feel the way you do. Everyone will have their own opinion, but you’re wanting to do something that shows you’re a selfless person. You’re willing to take someone in that needs you.

Adoption is such a powerful thing. It’s giving someone a chance to have a better life. You’re willing to accept a person no matter what. You’re giving someone a second chance and it’s beautiful. God will bless you.

To the Girl Who Thinks She Wants to Adopt, it’s okay to want to adopt and not have your own children. Childbirth isn’t for everyone and it’s a scary thought. I think it’s amazing to want to love someone else’s child. It’s not selfish to not want to have children especially when there are already so many children looking for love. I believe God will bless you abundantly for being willing to sacrifice yourself to care for a child. Children are the biggest blessings in life. They are so smart and our future children are what can make a difference in this world.

And for another twist on a different type of adoption:

To the Girl Who Thinks She Wants to Adopt, you might not even be thinking about adopting a child, but a fur baby. Thank you for wanting to open your home and heart to a precious fur friend. They need you. We’re coming into spring and summer and the animal population is growing. Help educate people on spaying and neutering their animals. Just this past week, I have rescued a fur baby. That was one of the reasons why I didn’t post last week. I had so much going on with trying to care for him and finding him a fur-ever home since I am unable to keep him. However, I am happy to report we have found him a home. After he heals from being neutered, he will go live with them and we will still be able to see him!

To the Girl Who Thinks She Wants to Adopt (child or fur-baby), take in those sweet babies. Give them a second chance at life. You might be the only one to make a difference.

Sincerely,

A Girl Who Thinks She Wants to Adopt (more than the fur-babies I have now).

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
