To all the girls who would rather be reading than talking to someone else.

To The Girl Hiding Behind The Book

To the girl with her head in the book,

I used to be just like you. I couldn't go anywhere without a book, still can't. Reading is almost all you have and there is nothing wrong with that. Don't let people look down on you for reading. We live in a society where reading is weird and you are a nerd for reading.

At one point in life characters were the only friends I had. You will find other people and other people will find you. People want to hear your voice I promise. I know what it is like to believe no one wants to listen to you.

Read your book but have interactions with people too. I understand that people leave and no one in books do but one day you will find someone. You will find someone like the boys in your books.

You will find a guy that will make you smile from ear to ear. You will find someone who will make you laugh and who will know just what to do when you're crying. You will find someone who will want to be around you all the time and who your family will love. Don't ever give up.

Books are amazing, believe me. Books are something I turned to in some of my darkest times but I couldn't keep hiding. You can't either. So read as much as you can but don't forget to live.
