I guess the rumors are true when they say you meet some of your favorite people your senior year. First of all, thank you for making my senior year my favorite one by far. Thank you for the coffee dates and book talks, the adventures to just about every food place in town, the motivational words before cross country workouts, the help with calc homework, the help with school projects, the sleepovers, the ups, the downs, and just about everything in between (You all know who you are).
It’s hard to believe that not too long ago, I didn’t even have your phone numbers in my phone, and now, I can’t imagine my senior year without you. We've shared laughs, tears, struggles, and memories that make me feel like I've known you since my freshman year. Our friendship just happened so naturally, like something meant to happen years before it actually did. I am so thankful to have been surrounded by such fun, caring, supportive, and funny people during this roller coaster ride that is senior year. I’m not going to lie: I’m really excited to graduate in just about a month and move onto college, but it’s you guys that are going to make it hard to leave. It’s going to be hard not to see your smiling faces in the hallways.
I can’t help but wish that we had met sooner. After all, in a couple of months, we’ll be away from each other, whether that means us both going to college, or you still finishing your four years in high school. How is it that I have to leave the friends I feel like I just met? It doesn’t seem fair. I guess things work out like this for a reason. Regardless, whether we met five months or five days ago, thank you for coming into my life. Each and every one of you has made me happy, and for that, I can’t ever thank you enough. You have each changed my life in your own beautiful and unique ways and the thought of leaving you all soon is what makes this whole graduation thing so bittersweet.
However, that’s not to say that our friendships end the day my high school career does. Prom, summer, and Project Graduation, believe it or not, are just around the corner. I can’t wait to use these last few months to make more memories and make up for lost time. Please remember that whether we are only a mile or multiple states apart, I will always be one short text message, Facetime call, or Snapchat away. Although we’ve only known each other for a short time, everyone always says better late than never.
That being said, thank you again for being a wonderful human being. Some of the best things in life are the things that you least expect. Each and every one of you were like pleasant surprises. Please, keep in touch, and don’t forget about me, because I certainly won’t forget about you. If I could have made half of the impact on your life that you’ve made on mine, I’d be oh so very happy.
The clock counting down until college is ticking, but in the meantime, I intend to make each and every second count.
