As much as we would all like to think that we are fearless and seizing every day and slapping each morning in the face with optimism, it is simply not the case. We are not all nearly as fearless as we say we are. As Meredith Grey once said we, “sweep today’s possibility under tomorrow’s rug into we can’t anymore.” However, there are some people who actually like to wake up every morning at 7 a.m. and don’t need coffee. They are rare but they are gems. I am lucky enough to be best friends with one of these people. Here’s to you my wild child.
Thank you for dragging me out of bed extremely early when I don’t want too, I experience everything fully and deeply on those days. You are truly fearless. You do not care about what anyone has to think or say about you because you understand that this is your life, not theirs. You follow your heart. Anything you want to do you go and do it without a second thought. You understand that you might fall straight on your face but you also understand that’ll you never know if you never try.
You look at everyday as an opportunity to be the best you you could possibly be. You truly live by the motto that asking for forgiveness is better than asking for permission. You do things on impulse and without a reason other than that it felt right. You live everyday to the maxim and you still have energy left over to want to do it all over again the next day.
Every moment that I’m with you, I’m fearless. You make me brave. You make me want to go move mountains and get that tattoo just because I want too. You serve as a constant reminder that we only get one chance at this thing so we better not screw up. You inspire me everyday to look for the silver lining and to never give up. You never judge me for my mistakes because you believe that it’s all part of the process and nothing is ever on accident. Thank you for teaching me to always believe in myself. You have so much self-confidence and love for yourself that it’s contagious. You make me want to be a better friend, sister, daughter, human being. You always look for the best in people and even if they disappoint, you shake it off and move on.
You have taught me to demand more out of life and of myself. You have taught me that if I want something, I should go get it, period. I love the way you hold on so strongly to the belief that you can start over everyday. You believe that everyday is a new opportunity to get it right.
Thank you for having enough faith for the both of us whenever we get stuck in sticky situations. You always remind me that it will all work out. You inspire me every day that I’m with you and I am so thankful that I’m part of your wild life.
Thank you for helping me turn into a wild child who demands more because you’ve taught me that I deserve more.
