In the big state of Texas, a lot of us Southerners will pay $5-$30 to see an artist. We don't pay just to see just any artist; we pay to see our Texas Country Musicians. It is the true-hearted country music we had back in the 70's to the 90's. You've got the Randy Rogers Band, Cody Johnson, Casey Donahew Band, Aaron Watson, and Stoney Larue, etc. That is just some of the great ones we hear all the time.
Let me ask you, when you go to a concert..why do you go? To have fun? Or to watch some uncontrollable drunk get into a fight? Exactly: to have fun! Now to the uncontrollable drunk that ruins it all: Screw you! People do not pay money to watch you be rude, dispresctful, and immature! Fix yourself and watch your limit. You have no clue what that artist has to go through to put on a concert.
Let me give you a quick view of the music life. As an artist myself, I know what has to go into the makings of one concert. We have to first travel usually pretty damn far. We don't get to be at home when we want to or choose to. We use a lot of our money to make our dreams happen. The business is not cheap. We have to put in money to get our money's worth. A tour bus alone can cost at least $1500 a day, not including the trailer you haul, the band you have to pay or the meals you have to cover. The reason we pay for that is because we are blessed to have the opportunity and the ability to do what we do every single day! Don't ruin it for us or our fans.
Don't think for a second either that your little mishap will be dismissed from the crowd. Oh no! We will make it loud and clear to everyone there about how stupid you are for doing what you did. We are not afraid to call you out, allow the audience to laugh, or to have the door hit you on the way out. Artists go through so much that we pretty much give up on what people think. We don't care what people's opinions are; we just say how we are feeling no matter who is around.
So next time you think about interrupting a artists concert/performance, think again! We do this for a living and it's a living that burns a hole in our wallets, but also our hearts. We will call you out and we will make it loud and clear how disrespectful you are to the lead singer, the band members, the band crew, the venue workers, and of course, the fans for pausing the once-in-a-lifetime chance that we get every night. So don't be stupid.
Sincerely,
A Local Texas Country Singer/Songwriter
