To the few selfless people in the world,

You have to know who you are because you are very rare. You know you are selfless when you realize that you always have to only do what others want. You can never have your way because the other person just won't have it. It always has to be their way no matter what. But you are used to it now because that's how it has always had to be. You don't want pizza because you had it yesterday? Well, your friend wants it and won't take no for an answer so you just accept it because you don't want to cause any problems. No matter what, it will be a huge ordeal and you'll have to end up letting them get their way anyways, so you might as well let them to start with, right?

You always put others first, no matter what. Even though you have been so excited for one particular thing, your friend doesn't want to, so you basically have to go alone or not do it at all. Some people need to realize that sometimes you actually have to put others first and do what other people want to do even if you don't want to. But for some reason, most people don't understand that. See if they really wanted to see you, they would do what you wanted for a change, but they are just too selfish to do anything they don't want to.

You on the other hand, always make time for others, even if you barely have time for yourself. Someone needs help so you stop to help them, even if you have a million other things on your plate. Your friend is going through something, so you drop everything just to go and be with them. But do you get anything in return? Well of course not, that's what you're supposed to do. If you didn't you would be such a terrible person. Even though they probably wouldn't even answer the phone if you needed them. But that's fine because it's not like you know any different.

You respect other people's opinions, no matter how much you disagree. You always try to spare their feelings in a disagreement. Because everyone's opinion matters. Your opinion is not the only thing that is right. While they, on the other hand will do anything in their power to make sure they prove you wrong, even if there is no way you will change your opinion. So you basically just have to leave for them to stop trying to tell you that you are wrong or act like you agree with them.

You are generous and kind. No matter what others do to you, you always seem to put them first. You give them way more chances than they deserve just because of how much you care for others. You give to others, without expecting anything in return. You are very rare and more people need to be like you. The world would be such a better place if they were. People need to stop only caring about themselves and see what they could do for others. If people were even half as selfless as you, the world would change tremendously, and definitely for the better. Maybe one of these days you will rub off on people, instead of them only taking advantage of your kindness. But just know, that I appreciate you, and it's people like you who are going to change the world.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
