"I have set the Lord continually before me. Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken." -- Psalm 16:8
Hello Beautiful Soul,
College is a time of monumental change. It's the first time you're really seeing who you are without your family being right there. Yes, they're only a phone call away, but it is so different; they are not physically there. You'll go through sickness and tough classes and friend drama and rough dates without the people who were always at home ready to listen.
If you're like me, you're thankful for the phone calls and the FaceTime dates, but you crave for the actual interaction. On the flip side, perhaps you had a difficult home life and college was a blessed escape.
Whatever your situation may be, God is always just a simple prayer away. Life may get difficult when you're at school. In those tough times, it becomes hard to remember that God is watching over you.
You may wonder why all of the trials and tribulations were placed in front of you.
How could doing poorly on a test possibly be a blessing? How could a death in the family be at all a good thing? How can you put a positive spin on a heart-wrenching breakup?
Try looking at it from a different perspective. By doing poorly on a test, you may study harder and take advantage of office hours and tutor centers. After the death of a family member, you may start to appreciate your loved ones more and create more memories. When the hard parts of the breakup is over, you may learn to embrace and love yourself more; one day, 'the one' will come.
God is always watching over you, whether it feels like it or not. You can't only thank him for the blessings, but also for the 'failures,' that are simply blessings in disguise. Perhaps doesn't always answer your prayers, but that's just because he has something better in store for you. Patience is of the essence. Life is not something to be spent in a single moment; it is years and years of ups and downs and everything in between.
So, next time you think God isn't there for you, have faith. He is there, he is watching over you, he is doing what's best for you, and he loves you so much.
XOXO,
A gal like you
(P.S. -- "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your heart be troubled and do not be afraid." --John 14:27)
