To this day I am still in disbelief that you are all mine. I never thought I would wind up dating a person like you. Every day spent with you is a blessing, and I hope we will get to spend many more days together in the forthcoming years. Ever since you walked into my life, I knew there was something different about you — in a good way.
It's been nearly 20 months now that we've been dating. The fact I only dated one person my entire life (for less than 3 months), and have now been in a relationship with you for so long really speaks about our relationship. It means I've found someone who is willing to live life with me. You make me feel loved, beautiful, protected, and safe. I know I have told you before, but you have opened my eyes to another part of the world. You're the reason I've learned to try new things.
Now when people say "opposite attracts" I believe it is partially true. You and I have fairly opposite personalities, but it's a good thing because it opens each of us up to new experiences we haven't had before and allows us to learn new ideas from each other. When it comes to our beliefs, wants, needs, ethics, etc., we tend to be similar though. This, too, is good, for if we continue on the strong path we are on and have a future, we can agree on how we want to live a life together. By having opposite personalities, but similar ethics it allows us to have a well-functioning, strong, stable relationship.
Our relationship, all-in-all, is fantastic and runs smoothly, but there are times where we do struggle as a couple. There are times where one of us will get mad or frustrated at the other, but that is normal and actually healthy in a relationship. It's what bonds a relationship even tighter. I just hope you know that whenever we do have a disagreement or fight, I will always love you and will be willing to work at it together as a couple (after we take a few minutes to calm down of course).
Just when I finally began to fully love life, you came into it, making me even happier than I never thought possible. You've truly changed my life and have taught me what it is like to love. I only hope that we may continue building our relationship and have a long future together.
