To The Boy That Broke Her Heart

She deserved so much better from you.

You know who you are, so there’s no need to be blunt. Her heart was like a delicate rose in which you decided to pluck all of the petals. She’s not one to open up to someone, yet she confided in you. At the time it seemed like a good idea. At the time you held her in your arms and told her that you loved her. How does that just disappear? Was it the constant voices in your ears saying that you need to play the field? Or is it the fact that everyone you know strokes your ego to the point of no return? Either way, you need to learn how to be a man. Stop letting other people control your mind. You are your own person. Grow a pair, and do what you think is best for you. Not what your parents think or what your friends think, but what you think is the right path to go down. She gave you her all.

Every ounce of everything she had was invested in you, and you brushed it off like it was nothing. Was it something that she did? Was it something that she said? You left no trace of closure. Did it ever cross your mind that you were everything to her? You weren’t just her boyfriend, you were her best friend. You were the person that she told everything to. You were her shoulder to cry on when she was sad, or laugh with when she was happy. I’m completely baffled by the fact that you turned out to be a shell of a man. You have played everyone that has met you like a fine tuned harp, at least that’s the way that it seems considering you were the perfect balance for her. You hold yourself so high in the face of everyone around you. I wish they could see the behind the scenes. They would see the true colors that are hidden beneath the mask that you show to the world.

I honestly believe that you have all the potential in the world to be an amazing guy, if only you’d take control of the reigns of your life instead of letting everyone else yank them. One question that has been constantly in my brain is if you are hurting. Did it hurt you to hurt her? Because she didn’t deserve that. She never deserved that. She deserved more than what you gave to her, and one day she will have someone to give her everything that she needs. Whether it will be you or not only time will tell. However, if you choose to come back, let me give you a few tips. You better bow down at her feet and beg for forgiveness after all the damage you have caused. You better do everything that you possibly can to prove to her that you are worth her time. You better let her know that she is the best thing that has ever happened to you, and that you are the biggest idiot of all time to have ever let her go.

Prove to her that you are worthy, because if you don’t and you waste her time again then you will be sorry. You have my word on that.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
