I have been surprised many times in life, but you were definitely the most unexpected. God brought you into my life when I was sure I would not end up dating anyone in college. I had a plan for how I wanted things to go. Of course, God's plans are always better. I know we have had our ups and downs but somehow we've come out of it stronger and still loving each other. Here are some of the things I want you to know but don't always say:
Thank you for your kindness. From getting me a blanket, tucking me in and staying up all night to write me a letter to taking a day off of classes just to go with me to get my car fixed. Words can't describe how thankful I am for all of those times. Words can't describe how loved you make me feel. That is true sacrifice, putting the other person first. I love you for your selflessness.
I know that you have been struggling, but I see how passionate you are. You have big dreams to help and serve others. I admire you for that. Your willingness to give 110% to everything you do is incredible and your love for people is just mind blowing; it inspires me to be a better person. Things may seem confusing now and you may feel lost, but God is going to use everything you are going through now to make you the amazing person he has called you to be.
You are one of the most talented people I know. You are your own worst critic, so maybe that's why you can't see what I see. I see you play piano with your heart and soul. Your ping pong skills are on point. You give amazing speeches and arguments (I never have a good response to them). You dance so effortlessly. You are awesome at Frisbee. You're just amazing.
I'm proud of you. For the person you are and how you've been through so much in life yet are still standing. You're not just surviving; you're thriving. You are loved and treasured beyond comprehension by God. He looks at you and sees his pure, forgiven child whom he was willing to die for.
Thank you for your forgiveness. We have been through a lot of struggles and obstacles but God is always there in them. You are always so willing to choose love and forgiveness, and that resonates with me. It is just one of the ways you've shown God to me.
I don't know what God has in store for us, but I want you to know that I love and appreciate you. Thank you for your desire to grow closer to God with me. Thank you for all of the prayers and your sweet comments. They all melt my heart and I hope you know just how much I appreciate, love and respect you. You're the best and I can't imagine being with anyone more wonderful. I love you.
