To My Soon To Be Sisters
Theta Big Little

The time has finally come, and we have both been waiting for this day for months. Joining a sorority is so rewarding, and I'm so excited for you as you join our family, officially. Here are a few things you should know as you begin this journey.

1. You may not know what you're doing yet, but it's okay.

Joining our sorority can be overwhelming and the sisters totally understand that. If you don't understand something, don't feel bad. Just get with your new found sisters and ask questions. We're so happy you're here.

2. Learn to love the ritual.

Ritual is what makes us us. Ritual is sacred to us as sisters and is refreshing. It's overwhelming and bonding to all the sisters nationally. Love it, and remember it. It's special.

3. Sisters aren't just for four years, they're for life.

I know you here this all the time but it's true. No matter how long you're here, you'll always have you're sisters. We have each other's back even if we aren't as close to everyone.

4. You're big is more than just big she's your best friend.

A big is a person who wants to be there for you for this whole experience and I guarantee she loves you already. Your big may be crazy at times, and may annoy the crap out of you at moments, but she will be the person you can always go to. You will always hold a special place in your big's heart.

5. Wear your letters with pride.

In my sorority, you can't wear letters until you're initiated. Wearing our letters is a matter of pride and respect for the ideals of our sorority. When you put on those letters, remember your sisters, the ritual, and everything this group means to you. Every time you put on your letters, think of how proud you are to wear them.

I am so excited that you found your home with us. I so happy to officially call you sister. <3

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
