Dear My Not-So-Little-Cousin,
First off, would ya PLEASE stop growing up so damn fast?! I feel like it was just yesterday that you had your pacifier, or your "B's" as you liked to call it, in your mouth while running around with just a diaper and a dress-up chef apron on. It seems that these last 4-5 years have gone by in the blink of an eye. I still remember my little girl learning how to perfect her soccer skills (which by the way, you're a kick-ass soccer player, my little friend), begging for a chocolate donut right before dinner (you still sometimes do), or when we all used to call you "Turtle."
You have grown into such a smart, outgoing, kindhearted little girl and I couldn't be more proud to have watch you grown into your skin. Not only are you my little cousin, but I'm lucky enough to consider you my little sister. Since we're both only children, we can rely on each other for a lot of things. I promise you, you can come to me for any advice you need. Need it be about school, personal issues, boys, girl drama, family drama, or whatever, I will always be your shoulder to lean on.
I can't express how much I have loved watching you grow up into the beautiful teenage girl you are. I love watching you play soccer because I know it's something you are truly passionate about. I love watching you be a strong team leader and making sure everyone is involved. You have a heart of gold and you make sure everyone feels welcome. I love watching how you interact with your best friends because it's so different now than it was when I was your age. Appreciate the little things while you can, because believe it or not, as you get into high school, you're going to have more responsibilities.
I just want to give you small pieces of advice. I wish I had had an older cousin in the family to inform me of these things, so I feel like it's my responsibility and an honor to be able to teach you these life lessons:
1. Make the most out of every memory - always photograph the little things.
2. Keep your friends close and keep in touch with those friends who aren't about drama.
3. Continue to have a good attitude towards situations.
4. Do NOT rush growing up - all it is is a bunch of responsibilities.
5. TRY IN SCHOOL - do not give up! We're all so proud of you!
6. Always strive for things you want to do! Never give up on your dreams
7. Always know I will always be here for you!
Well, my little cousin, I love you lots! I hope you know I'll never go anywhere and if I do, you're the first person who I would want to come with me.
Love you!!
