To My Little With Love

Whether we're together or miles apart, we'll always be Big and Little at heart.

To My Little With Love
Kaylee Switzer

At the beginning of my sophomore year of college, I joined a sorority.
I welcomed in the idea of sisterhood, philanthropy, fun events and the
many memories I would make through my time as a member. The one thing
I looked forward to the most was getting my Little sister and being
able to be called Big.

On Reveal Day, my life changed just from one little blessing. That day
we were two people, alike as much as we were different, who began an
unbreakable bond. That day my precious Little ran into my arms for the
first time and I knew at that moment that it wouldn't be the last.

Little, you are kind and caring. You always know what to say and how
to say it. You are so willing to give to others whether it be with
your time or your encouragement. I always loved the days you brought
me peanut butter ice cream when I was sick or would text me words of
reassurance the day of an event I had planned. You are so selfless and
it is something I truly admire.

You are hardworking, determined and driven. I have never met someone
so passionate about life and the plans God has for them. Whether it be
knocking out your GPS homework in the library or working a double
shift on a Saturday, you always put in 110%. I am so thankful that I
get the privilege of watching you continue to succeed in everything
you do. If I haven't said it already, you're pretty awesome.

Thank you for making me feel like a mom. Thank you for all the nights
when I didn't want to be alone. Thank you for all the laughs that
we've shared. Thank you for cuddles in a twin sized bed. Thank you for
dinner dates and Sonic runs. Thank you for listening to me rap 2000s
hip hop and blaring Taylor Swift with the windows down. Thank you for
praying with me and for me. Thank you for the surprise road trips and
for always being the person I want in my passenger seat. Thank you for
being the two to my one. And most importantly, thank you for being
you.

There are not enough words to describe how important you are to me.
You give me a reason to strive for success in all aspects of life so I
can always be someone you can look up to and fall back on. You
motivate me in ways you may never know, and challenge me every day. It
is the greatest feeling being your Big, and I am so excited for you to
get the opportunity to invest into a Little of your own.

Little one, this is only the beginning. I cannot wait to make more
memories together. Here's to the sleepless nights of crafting for your
Little/my Grand. Here's to more 1-2 pictures. Here's to the socials
we'll attend and the events we'll plan. Here's to all the sleepovers
in my apartment and cooking dinner together. Here's to more Sonic
runs. Here's to more laughs, tears, hugs, and moments we won't forget.
I love you so much Little.

Love,
Big

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
