To my friend who is going on an adventure,
Well, let’s start off by saying how jealous I am. You are going to have so much fun. Traveling is a nerve-wracking thing especially if you are going alone but I am proud of you for breaking out of your comfort zone. I know you have anxieties and fears but once you are at your destination, none of that will matter anymore.
On the flight, try to get some rest. I know it’s hard to sleep but you’ll definitely need it especially because of the time difference. Go to beaches, go to amusement parks, go to famous sites, do it all. Don’t forget to take pictures so everyone at home, including me, can live vicariously through you. But try not to be on your phone too much. Enjoy the time you have out there with your friend. You can talk to all of us back here when you come home, but for now, enjoy the time you have (but don’t forget to use the snapchat filters, those are important.)
Enjoy each day as if it were your last. Going somewhere new is always exciting. When I travel, I try to take in every day I have. Although you should live like it’s your last at home, do it especially on vacation. You are breaking away from the life you know and every day routines to a whole new world. You will experience so many new things, you’ll definitely want to take it all in. Also, Buy souvenirs for yourself. Try not to focus too much on getting everybody from home something. As they would say in Parks and Recreation, “ Treat yo self.”
Most importantly, have fun! I already know you are about to have the adventure of a lifetime and I cannot wait to hear all about it when you come home.
