If the thought of reading for school every day bothers you, or if you can't study weekly like the teachers recommend, or if you are having trouble paying attention to the lectures, you might be like me.
The school system was not made for us. They come up with new accommodations all the time, but the system in general is flawed. Students with attention deficit disorder are sometimes seen as disabled. We go to the doctor and get prescriptions to help us focus, to help us work the same as everyone else. But none of it completely works. We get frustrated because we can't bring ourselves to study every day, re-watch the lectures or read the book. We can't study the same way as all the other students. It is extremely frustrating.
But what you should know is that your ADD is not a handicap. A very wise friend of my family told me that. He would have suffered in school the same way we do, but he learned how to get things done his way. He taught me when I was struggling with finals. Once your brain goes into panic mode, and you realize that you only have one or two days to learn an entire semester's worth of information, you are never more motivated to work. And you will learn the same amount as everyone who studied the teacher's way. There is nothing wrong with you; your brain just works differently.
If you take full advantage of the way your brain works, you can learn anything. You will no longer get frustrated with yourself. You just have to make sure you remember that you are not handicapped.
