Father,

Thank you for not being there for me

I have matured into a wonderful young woman without you

I look forward to our two minute conversations, and the "see you soon"

I have enjoyed all the times you said you would see me

It's funny because when I look in the mirror you're all I see

And when the time came there was no communication

I am used to your excuses, apologies, and have little expectation

My birthday and graduation passed without your congratulation

It's okay because I enjoyed my celebration

22 years gone by in the blink of an eye

And 22 years worth of memories have passed us by

So I thank my sister and mother for all they have done

Raising me together without the paternal one

So enjoy your father's day

Maybe I'll see you next May.
