We only have 14 days left to make memories in high school

We have done it. Almost. We've spent the last four years together laughing, loving, hating and most of all, making memories. We've spent over 700 schooldays together complaining about how the building can't regulate temperature then trying to rebel against our dress code. Now, we're 14 days out; 14 days away from walking across the stage at graduation;14 days away from getting our diplomas; 14 days left before we become Morris Knolls Alumni.

We have come so far from the uncomfortable groups of Denville and Rockaway. Those don't even exist anymore. We have become our own family of almost 400 people. We've made it this far. So keep going, don't give up now. We all were always told that senior year is supposed to be the easiest, and honestly up to this point I think we all believed that. Now, these last few weeks, we have more final projects than I think we've ever been given. Personally, I have more projects due than classes I take. All I want to do is give up, say I'm done and just not do it. Like all of us. But we can't. We are 14 days away from never having to do all these projects again. The senioritis set in months ago, but we're in the final stretch now.

We have to keep going to classes, because we're only 14 days away. Some of use are so close to being dropped from classes for attendance issues, and some of us have had to appeal days. Just keep going. We really only have one week left of actual class, and then we're done. So far, we've survived hurricanes and nor'easters. We've survived loss of classmates and bomb threats. We experienced pep rallies and football games. We've survived the workload and the dumb dress code rules. We have done it to this point, and we're so close to being done for good.

I'm not going to lie and say that if I could just stop going to school now I would, like most of my fellow classmates. Frankly, we can't and I don't completely want to. We have 14 days left of dreaded work and waking up. But that's not the only thing we have 14 days left of. We only have 14 days left to be with our friends each and every day. We only have 14 days to make memories in high school. This will be the last time you see so many of these people. So cherish it. We only have so much time left in our youth. There's only so much time before we're off living in so many different states buying houses and getting married.

Make the most of these last 14 days. Because before we know it, we will be sitting down on our football field waiting to toss our caps into the air.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
