Dear Best Friend,
I sure know how to pick them, don't I? There aren't enough words to tell you how much you mean to me. You are so kind, so beautiful, and so funny. Nothing could compare to the friendship that you have given to me. I know I don't tell you enough how much I appreciate our friendship. The times that we have shared, whether they were good or bad, are times that I will reflect on and remember for the rest of my life. You've brought out the best in me, and I couldn't thank you enough.
My best days are spent with you. We could be out on the town, adventuring in the woods, or even just be on the couch eating ice cream and watching Netflix. We could be doing anything or we could be doing nothing, and even still, we'd be having the best of times. We laugh until we cry, we cry until we laugh. Either way, we've got each other's backs. Even on my worst days, I know I can count on you. Whether we are only minutes or hundreds of miles away, you still manage to be there. Please know that no matter what happens and no matter where we are in life, I will always be there for you too, with ears to listen, a shoulder to cry on, and arms wide open, I will be there. Always.
I know it may seem like I'm rambling, as I usually do, but the main reason why I'm writing to you is because I want to thank you.
Thank you for everything. When I say everything, I mean absolutely everything. Thank you for answering the phone when I call at an absurd hour. Maybe I called just to say hi or maybe it was because I was having another one of my existential crises, but either way, you answered and you were there to listen. Thank you for defending me. Thank you for encouraging me to do my best and consoling me when I do my worst. Thank you for being so understanding, even when I'm being unreasonable. Thank you for giving me that slap of reality when I need it and for being brutally honest when the time is right. Thank you for laughing at my jokes (especially the bad ones), because if you didn't laugh with me, well...then I'd be laughing alone. Thank you for singing along with me in the car, even if my voice isn't so great. And most importantly, thank you for all that you've taught me. You are my role model. Not only did you teach me what a good friend is, but you also taught me how to be one.
Thank you for coming into my life and thank you for bringing me into yours.
Love always,
Your best friend.
P.S. I wouldn't ever trade our friendship for the world. The memories we have are times that I will never and could never forget. You mean so much to me—always have, always will.
