You just graduated high school and are getting ready to leave the nest and with that, you're most likely parting ways with the people closest to you. It is a scary thing, to go off on your own and leave the familiar faces you know behind, but you don't have to leave them behind. You can go on your new adventure and take your best friends with you. Yes, schoolwork and trying to maintain new friendships can take up a lot of time, but your best friends from high school do not have to be forgotten. So this one is for those girls who came into my life at the perfect time and who I could never forget even when life gets crazy:
1. You are irreplaceable.
We are going to make new friends, get caught up in our new social lives and create a bunch of new memories, but no one could ever replace you. No one will ever get me like you do, cheer me up the way you do, or make me forget all those sleepovers where we stayed up til 2 a.m. laughing about who knows what.
2. I am always here to pick you up.
Life can get pretty hectic sometimes. With loads of classwork, social events and binge watching Netflix. You may not have time to just step back and breathe. I am here to let you know that you are a perfect, beautiful and a one-of-a-kind human being. Whether you do bad on a test, are just having a bad day, or are feeling down about yourself, I am here to let you know It's all going to be OK. You fall, and you get right back up. If you need help getting up, you know right where to find me.
3. I miss you 24/7.
I miss you so much, it drives me crazy! We may not talk all the time, but know you are always on my mind. When I'm watching that one episode of "Parks and Rec" that we laughed over for days while drinking coffee, I die a little bit inside. Even though we cannot be together to take over your couch, devour a roll of cookie dough and cry over rom-coms at the moment, there's no where else I'd rather be.
4. You are the better half of me.
You are my people. In the words of Carrie Bradshaw, "Maybe our girlfriends are our soulmates." You have been there by my side through the ups and downs for years, and I cannot thank you enough for that. You know me like the back of your hand and I do not deserve all the love and kindness you have given me. You are the best part of me, and I can't imagine life without you.
5. Our reunions are so worth it.
I am counting down the days until we are reunited! Whether it's for Christmas break, spring break or summer, any amount of time we get to spend together is precious. I can't wait to have our own dramatic, slow motion running into each others arms scene and get caught up on each others lives. I love you more than you'll ever know!
