A Letter to my Long Distance Best Friend.

Since moving abroad I've discovered how important my friendships are and I want to thank them for their endless support.

A Letter to my Long Distance Best Friend.

Since I've moved abroad I have realized who my true friends are. They the ones who have supported me through this move, who are always here for me to vent despite the time difference, and who have continued to love me even with my changes.

This letter is for them to let them know how much I love and appreciate them for everything they've done for me.

Dear Best Friends,

First off thank you for encouraging me to join the Peace Corps. If you hadn't, I probably wouldn't be in Uganda having the time of my life. Thank you for helping me actually prepare to move. Thank you for never letting me back out and reminding me this was where I was supposed to be. Thank you for insuring that I was qualified for the Peace Corps. If I wasn't, I wouldn't have been accepted. And thank you for reminding me that this was what I have been preparing years for with all my schooling and trips abroad.

Thank you for checking in on me as much as you can while I'm living abroad. I know that the time difference can make communication very hard. I'm usually wide awake as you are just heading to bed and vice versa. Thank you for staying up late and waking up early just so we can have a conversation. Our communication helps me to not feel so homesick and miss you a little less.

Thank you for being here for me even though we are 9,000 miles apart. I know that I can go to you when I need advise, when I need to vent, when I have an incredible story about people I met or the class I taught, or when I just need my best friends. You always seem to be there for me no matter what which has made this journey so much easier.

Lastly, thank you for continuing to love me even though this experience has changed me. I believe it to be a good change, but already, I am not the same person who moved abroad five months ago, and you love me anyways. It reminds me that you are going to love me no matter changes I go through as long as I stay true to myself.

So thank you to my best friends for being constants in my life. I don't know how I'd survive my journey if I didn't have y'all in my life supporting me in all I do. I love you all so much. Cheers to our long distance friendship!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
