To my best friend as you embark on a new chapter in your life,
Let me begin by saying I am so incredibly proud of you! You might not realize how amazing of a person you are, but lucky for you, I do and I will take this opportunity to tell you just how much I care for you because my words are something that you need to hear.
Studies say that your friend group changes once every seven years, but we’ve been there for each other through thick and thin, so why fix what’s not broken? Things change, people move on, and sometimes the future brings about thoughts of uncertainty. We may not know what career path we will take or where in the world that we will end up, but I know one thing is for sure, our friendship will remain constant.
As you embark on this new chapter in life, I hope you seize every opportunity for happiness and success. Standing on the edge of the unknown is scary, but just remember, we are in this together. It’s okay to be nervous and unsure of the next step. No one said that you had to have it all figured out at twenty-two. I mean, does anyone really know what they’re doing at any age?
If you’re ever having doubts, remember that your confidence shines through your hesitation. Your unwavering determination will guide you through the stress. Your motivation is something that I find to be admirable. You have the talents and abilities to go out and change the world just by being you.
Whether life takes you to Minneapolis, Tucson, Baltimore, or San Diego, I couldn’t be more inspired by your accomplishments. Even though I can’t imagine life without you being right around the corner from me, I know you will always be a phone call or group text away. And if moving away from home is something that is in the cards for you, at least I know I will always have a place to visit.
I have been blessed with a friend like you for a reason- You motivate me. You inspire me. You make me proud. You may not know what you are doing yet, but I know in my heart that whatever path you choose to pursue will lead you to prosperity. Instead of fearing the unknown, conquer the uncertainty with confidence. Know that you will be successful, even if it doesn’t seem like it right now, and please know that if you are ever doubtful, you have one hell of a support system behind you.
In the words of Tim McGraw, “Chase your dreams, but always know the road that will lead you home again.” Thank you for being part of my life. Thank you for never leaving my side. And most importantly, thank you for being you! If you ever need a little pick-me-up, remember that I wouldn’t be me, if it wasn’t for you. Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes it just takes a little longer than you expected it too, but your next adventure is waiting for you.
