Dear Froomies,
With our move in date right around the corner I thought I would write to tell you about the love and excitement I have for us. I want to begin by saying I am relieved that we are not "random roomies." After hearing many random roommate horror stories, I am terrified to even be in that situation. I feel once you live with someone the value you have for one another deepens and you are able to do things you won’t be able to do around anyone else.
I can’t wait for girl’s nights where we don’t have to move from the couch because we are already with our girls. I can’t wait to watch each other grow as the semesters pass, always knowing that we will be there for one another for every exam, project and whatever obstacle we run into during college. Introducing each other to our families, and planning trips to go back to each others’ hometowns, with unexpected road trips, basically always having one another's company, a person to be with. After a long day, I will always be there for you. Hearing your rants on why you hate this professor, why you just want to marry a rich, or when you just want to cry I will be there to hand you over tissues and touch up your makeup. Through all of the ups and downs we may have in life I want you to know that I will always hold your hand every step of the way.
I hope that some day you will be a part of my wedding. Since we all know that some day we will be giggling and planning "the big day.” I want to have so many pictures of us together that it is ridiculous, but perfect when we need a picture to frame. I want you to always know that you have a shoulder to cry on or a person to depend on when you get a flat tire, or when we need to recap the night we had before. We have reached the time in our lives where we are no longer children, but young adults. Attacking the world alone is scary, but know that you will not be alone, you will have me every step of the way. When you introduce me to boys, know that it is my duty to embarrass you and act as a proud mom. For every heartbreak or stupid boy you meet just know that I will be the first to make him regret what he did, I mean that in the most non-crazy way that I can (or not).
I can’t wait to look back at the times we share, when we are no longer in college, to think how we helped each other grow into the women we become. Even on days when we have had enough of one another, or just need some space. Please know that no matter what, I chose you to be a roommate with me for a reason. That reason is because you bring out the best in me, you are my right-hand girl, a great friend and someone I want to know for a lifetime.
XOXO,
Froomie
