If you are graduating high school in the next few months, here's a few things to think about..
It's okay not to go to college...
Not everyone thinks that college is for them, and that is perfectly okay! College is another 4+ years of homework, essays, and stress. In addition, you're paying thousands of dollars to sign up for all of this. It's understandable if you want a new direction in life.
If you ARE going to college...
College is a whole new world, trust me. It's okay to be nervous and have expectations. But it's important to keep an open mind because college is truly what YOU make of it. Do things you would have never done before. Take advantage of the on-campus events and meet new people!
If you're going into the workforce...
If you are going straight into the workforce, no matter what type of job it is, go into that with an open mind as well. Try to find a job that makes you happy. Especially if it's something that you want to do for the rest of your life.
If you're just taking a year off...
And if you're just taking a year off from school or work, make sure you make the best of the free time you have! Take adventures, travel, just relax. You've just been in school for 12 years, we get it if you just need and want some "you" time. Enjoy it while you can.
No matter what you are doing with your lives after high school, it is extremely important to realize that it is your life, and it's meant for you to live. Don't let anyone discourage you from your dreams and goals. Everyone is different, so it's only natural to break away from what you have been doing the rest of your life before now.
Graduate and celebrate! It's only the beginning!
