5 Fun Things For The Single Ladies To Do On Valentine's Day
The Fresh Toast

About two months ago, I broke up with my boyfriend. A month prior to that, we both thought we'd be together on Valentine's Day. Obviously, now that we aren't together, I'll be spending Valentine's Day alone...again.

Normally, I'd be kind of depressed about being single on Valentine's Day. However, at this moment in my life, I love being single. Breaking up with that guy was a pretty good decision because now I can do things that I couldn't when I had a boyfriend.

I can focus more on my friends and hang out with more than just one person (my boyfriend). I can meaninglessly flirt with guys and, best of all, I can spend Valentine's Day with my BFF (or alone), eating chocolate, watching movies, and showing MYSELF some love!

At this time of my life, I am really appreciating being single. I know a lot of girls are single on Valentine's Day and see it as a bad thing, but I don't. If you're single this Valentine's Day, here are 5 things that you can do either alone or with a friend instead of being sad about being "alone".

1. Watch your favorite romantic or rom-com movies.

You can't be depressed if you're forgetting all your problems by watching someone else's life! Usually, the main character in a rom-com will have bigger/worse problems than you. So, you'll definitely feel better about your own life after watching one!

2. Eat all your favorite candy.

Valentine's Day is the best excuse to be a total fatty and eat 5 bags of chocolate.

3. Indulge in a bunch of self-care rituals.

Light a candle, take a bath with your favorite bath bomb in it, do some face masks, shave your legs, read a book, listen to your favorite music, meditate... literally do anything that will make you feel good.

4. Go to a party with your squad.

Nothing beats having a LIT night out with your also single BFFs!!

5. Have a movie night with your BFFs or family.

If you don't feel like partying, staying in can be just as fun!

Remember: You don't need a man to be happy and feel loved on Valentine's Day! You can feel just as loved as a boyfriend would make you feel with your girls and your family!

Remember to tell all your loved ones you love them and appreciate all the people you have in your life, and don't focus on what you don't have!

Valentine's Day is what you make it! You can either be bitter that you're single OR you can be happy that you can dedicate a whole day/night to pampering yourself and making YOURSELF happy!

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
