To All The Newfound Beliebers

To all the new found Beliebers, I’m glad you joined the family, I really am. I welcome you and hope we can bond closer over the love we both have for Justin Bieber. But where we you when he didn’t just drop a new album? Where were you when he wasn’t on the top over every top 100 chart there is? Will you just disappear again when his new album becomes obsolete?

I know I’m not the only one that gets angry every time I see this tweet: “Justin Bieber needs to stop dropping banger after banger because now I'm a Belieber”. Or the fact that every other video posted on twitter or Instagram is Justin Bieber at a concert singing one of his new singles with the caption “OMG can’t breathe love you Justin Bieber”.


You may love him now but where were you before this album dropped? You certainly didn’t love him when his Journals album was dropped. I bet you don’t know every single word to Confident and Hold Tight. And I bet you don’t still listen to Justin Bieber’s Christmas album every Christmas since 2011.


And I know how popular the recent video of Justin Bieber singing “My Girl” to Selena Gomez is right now, but where were you during their whole relationship and every break up they’ve ever had? To those of us that have been there since day one, I praise us. And that may be cocky, but it’s easy to be a Belieber when Justin is on top. But you know what’s hard, being a Belieber when he’s on the bottom.


I bet that when Justin Bieber was arrested, you called him washed up and wasted. And what about when the video leaked of him peeing in a mop bucket and cursing Bill Clinton. How about the time he was caught smoking so much marijuana that it filled his private jet or the time he left his pet monkey in Germany. I bet you didn’t even know he had a pet monkey.


Now it may seem like I’m bashing you new Beliebers, but I’m truly not. I love that his popularity is growing. But I’m a typical jealous girl that doesn’t like the recognition of the true and OG Beliebers. Trust me, I’m the same way with The Weeknd. I saw him in concert when he couldn’t even fill a whole concert venue and now look at him. I’m the same way.

We can both be fans, but can we all just sit here and give just a moment of recognition for the fans that have been there since day one and never left his side. For the fans since baby Justin Bieber from the "One Time" music video, I'll praise you if no one else wants to. So consider yourself praised.
