With Trapfest being at the forefront of most Phoenician bassheads attention this week, I feel as though it is worthy to mention that there is another show worth seeing next week: TnT. This hardstyle DJ duo produces rhythmic cong from the earlier days of electronic dance music while adding their own flair to make them unique.
TnT is the musical collaboration between producers Technoboy and Tuneboy, both of which have achieved individual success. The duo just played at the Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC), on the designated hardstyle stage, wasteLAND. They were able to share the stage with other heavy hitters such as Wildstylez, Junkie Kid, Code Black, and LNY TNZ.
TnT has a unique take on hardstyle that features rhythmic, heavy bass, but they also take a melodic and vocal approach to make the beat powerful. I remember hearing Mellow for the first time and instantly I was caught off guard, yet happily surprised by the song’s use of vocals to set the tone. It can be difficult to differentiate one sound from other producers as a hardstyle artist, but TnT has found a way to stand out.
This event will be put on by Basscon, who has had an amazing track record of shows containing nothing but dirty bass. This hard hitting duo will be coming into town on July 13th, and will be performing at the Monarch Theater at 9 P.M. so make sure not to miss it!
