We are all too familiar with Target and the popularity that surrounds it’s Lily Pulitzer Collection and the irresistible popcorn you can grab on the way in, but what about the true front-runner here? TJ Maxx.
This is the type of shopping environment where you will find the same type of women, whom you would usually find at places like Nordstrom, Macys, Neiman Marcus, and Pier One. You know, the hot moms, trophy wives (sorry Target), and the average economic shopper. TJ Maxx is doing something right.
From the minute we step in the doors we are immediately overtaken by a huge collection of purses. These purses can range anywhere from $12- $800 and that is the beauty of it. You truly never know what kind of Michael Kors treasure you may find. Not to mention it’s all color coordinated! Score.
The huge statement necklaces and tiny nautical rings in the jewelry section will soon catch your eye. These will usually be brands including but not limited to: Betsey Johnson, Lucky Brand, Diesel, Hermes, etc. This truly all depends on the day. Much of these items are bought out from Big Company’s usually if they overestimate stock on their product. Which is really just a win for us, the shopper. There is a wall of scarves in any color or design you can imagine. The sunglasses are name brand and on average under $20. We’ll take 3.
Moving along through beauty products you find the perfect coil curling iron. TJ Maxx is literally the only place to shop when it comes to hair styling tools. They have everything from blow dryers to new trending shaped curling irons. I seriously doubt you can find a better price on CHI straighteners.
Onto the clothing, this is the mecca of savings. Racks and racks of semi-unorganized but incredibly “in” apparel, it’s worth the trouble. Did I mention the workout gear? The quality is no Lulu lemon, but for ¼ the price and just as cute, we’ll take it. Watch out Pilate’s class! Even the workout accessories are up to par. You can find Yoga blocks and cute neon headbands all in one place.
And you haven’t even reached the Home Goods….
Chic Lamps, and beaded pillows fill the isles. Interior design was always your dream career and it’s suddenly affordable. Is this what heaven is like? There is always one perfect armchair that looks like it was made for a queen. You resist the urge to sit in it not because you don’t want to, but because you noticed a couple kids footprints and you wonder how much they will mark it down in the coming weeks. You could totally get it at 25% off.
Another favorite amongst the home goods section is the pet isle! This isle has everything from pet seatbelts to temperpedic dog beds. The best part is, your dog or cat can be with you to experience it all. TJ Maxx is PET FRIENDLY. Dog Mom’s everywhere thank you.
Overall, we can’t get enough of the treasure hunt that is TJ Maxx. You rarely leave empty handed and can decorate your home, apartment or dorm room for $100 or less.
Let’s just all be thankful it’s not Ross.
