When the Titanic sank on April 12, 1912, we thought we would never be able to walk up and down the Grand Staircase again, eat in the Cafe Parisien, work out in the gym or in the pool, or even lodge in a first-class, second-class, or third-class cabin again. However, because of the genius ideas of an Australian businessman, Clive Frederick Palmer, the heart of the original Titanic will go on.
According to titanic2ship.com, Blue Star Line's "new Titanic 2 ship is expected to be launched in 2018. The new ship will be 833 feet long, just three inches longer than the original and 4.2m (13.9ft) wider in order to increase stability." The name of the owner of the Titanic 2 cruise ship, Blue Star Line, may seem vaguely similar to the name of the owner of the original Titanic, White Star Line. However, White Star Line was a British company, and the Blue Star Line is a Danish company. While superstitious people might think there are too many coincidences, including the fact that Titanic 2 looks very similar and the that it is stopping at the same ports as the original Titanic, the new Titanic 2 will be so much safer.
According to titanic2ship.com, there will be an extra safety deck "between original decks D and C is projected for 18 lifeboats and the safety chute." This time around, there will be enough lifeboats and lifejackets for everyone, and it will also have all of the SOLAS and other safety certificates. Therefore, should the Titanic 2 hit any icebergs, it should be much safer, and no one should have to go down with the ship.
Titanic 2 will be like a safer, modernized twin of the original Titanic. In BuzzFeed's video Clive Palmer says, "We've got a specification which is far more superior than that of the original Titanic, but the experience on this ship will be exactly the same." If you embark on this voyage with the Titanic 2, you can stay in first class, second class, or third class cabins, eat in luxurious dining rooms, eat in the Cafe Parisian, work out in the gym, swim in the pool, walk up and down the Grand Staircase, smoke in the Smoking Room, or even spend time in the Turkish Bath. Everything in Titanic 2 looks pretty much the same as the original Titanic. Furthermore, you could even enhance your experience by wearing similar clothing as they did during the early 1900s. This way, you will feel the true wonders of being on "The Ship of Dreams."
Who knows? Maybe you will have a romantic Jack-and-Rose moment where you too will feel like you are flying. Will you set sail on Titanic 2?
