11 Tips And Tricks To Feel Confident Without Makeup

I can't lie; I'm a makeup fanatic. It's fun, it's creative, and when I feel like I look good, I feel good. Personally, becoming so accustomed to wearing makeup has made it difficult for me to leave the house without it. Going makeup free after wearing a full face of makeup everyday can be intimidating, and even scary. You may not be completely secure with how you look because you're so used to covering your face with all of your favorite products. There are ways to make makeup free days more bearable, and to feel more confident going bare faced. Here are some of my favorite tips and tricks to feeling confident without makeup!

1. Wash your face twice a day with a light cleanser- It's important to use light cleansers for daily use because it is gentle on your skin. Using cleansers with beads are very rough on your skin, and using them too often can cause your skin to go raw which can cause redness and breakouts. Use something gentle and simple like Dove soap twice a day. Wash your face each morning and night to cleanse yourself of all of the built up sweat and residue. Your skin will thank you.

2. Exfoliate twice a week- While you shouldn't use face wash with beads every day, it's okay to use one once to twice a week. The beads help to exfoliate and clear away any dead skin on your face. Just make sure you aren't doing this too often!

3. Moisturize twice a day- Along with washing your face, always make sure to moisturize. Moisturizer keeps your skin hydrated which will leave it feeling silky smooth.

4. Drink lots of water- This one's obvious, but still, I cannot stress the importance. Drinking water has endless benefits. Water can decrease breakouts, keep you hydrated, and makes your skin glow. Do your best to get your 8 glasses each day!

5. Groom your eyebrows- Eyebrows make the face. Groom your eyebrows by tweezing and combing them into place.

6. Give yourself a honey face mask- Honey can reduce redness and help clear up acne. Not to mention it's super moisturizing.

8. Red reducing eye drops- Use red reducing eye drops to get rid of redness caused by allergies. This will brighten up your eyes and liven your appearance.

9. Apply vaseline on your eyelashes- Use a clear mascara wand to apply vaseline onto your eyelashes. This will help your lashes grow longer and thicker, along with allowing the skin around the eyelid to remain smooth.

10. Lip scrub- Purchase a lip scrub to exfoliate your lips and keep them soft and supple.

11. Use coconut oil on eyebrows and hair- Coconut oil is full of vitamins that help hair grow longer while adding shine by hydrating dry, brittle locks. It can be substituted for conditioner and is free of all harmful chemicals.

Going through the day without a trace of makeup could be intimidating, but as long as you make sure to take care of yourself, you are sure to glow. Remember; even if taking off your makeup might feel strange or abnormal, you are beautiful with and without it.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
