We all have encountered a time where we had absolutely no other option BUT to BS our way out of something. If you say that you have never had that experience you are a goddamn liar. I for a fact, have had to do it a handful of times---and although sometimes I wish that I had spent some more time on whatever it is that I was working on, the sheer joy of just having completed the task is sometimes good enough. However, I will say that it does take a good bit of practice to get good at it---so here are some tips on how to BS your way out of...virtually any assignment.
1. Do exactly the opposite of what you are supposed to be doing
2. Make everything as neat and colorful as possible
Ok...so be careful with this one, you can definitely get caught but you really need to know the exact amount of sh*t you need to include for your classmates and your professor to go wild over your work. So this means sprinkle in some color, and go wild with the neatness---remember nothing way too out of the ordinary, just enough for people be like "DAYUMMMMMM".
3. Personal anecdote is a personal anecdote is a personal anecdote
Unless you're writing for a science class, DEFINITELY bring up how the things you are writing about are so relatable. In fact, they are so relatable that you have a personal story to tell about it!! Even if it's a story about how your life sucks or how you failed the same class three times---if it gets their sympathy you f*ckin' win, so good job.
4. Make sure to talk to the professor before and after class about the assignment
Suck up earlier and reap the benefits later. There are words to live by, and not sure if there is much more to say about that. Really just show you interest beforehand so they know about your passion for the class and will pass you even if your essay is utter sh*t.
5. And finally, know that BS-ing really isn't going to get you anywhere
We all know that BS is necessary sometimes but this does not mean that you always should. Although these tips may help when you absolutely need them, DO NOT solely rely on them to be successful. Remember real success requires real hard work and determination, so while you think you're playing your professors...you're actually playing yourself.
