Helpful Tips For Dealing With Stress

As everyone knows, finals week is one of the most stressful times of the semester. However, it is also one of the best because it means once you pass the stress of exams, the semesters over! Which means we are so close to summer break, three long relaxing months of being home or going on vacation.

Till you're home free here's some advice that will help you stay level headed and stress to a minimum:

1. Begin by organizing your exam schedule.

By doing this you'll get a visual of everything coming up and you can begin to map out the time you will need to study for each exam. I used to not be a big planner person, BUT BELIEVE ME, IT HELPS.

2. Remember your physical health is important.

With all the business of trying to get last-minute work in and trying to find time to study, we tend to forget about taking care of our physical health. Just taking an hour from your day to workout will have you feeling better and more motivated.

3. Sip some t-e-a.

Studies show teas have health benefits, one being stress-relief. Some teas also have caffeine, so if you're not a big coffee person but want a boost, drink some tea. Personally, sometimes I like to switch between coffee and tea and not to be biased but chai tea is the best. When it comes to stress, I enjoy green tea or chamomile, but there are so many teas that help reduce stress so find the one that works best for you.

4. Your mental health is important.

Many people forget to take care of their mental health, especially in stressful times. However, taking a few moments out of your day (less than 10 minutes) and meditate, your stress and anxiety levels will go down. Meditation is also known to be a good productivity tool because it helps you focus and increases productivity. It also promotes a feeling of peace and well-being, something we all need during these hard times. Meditation is also great because it's convenient, meaning it can be done anywhere and at any time, you can also do it alone or with others.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
