So, if you're an artist, a fan artist, or an animator, you have most likely created your own original character (OC). There are probably many methods, however, I just wanted to share mine, and hopefully it helps someone who has trouble coming up with an idea, back stories, time periods, and ages for their OC.
First, I make a couple different lists. I usually make a list titled Time Periods, setting, conflict, resolution, etc. By creating these lists, you can write down many different ideas and mix and match them to your liking. This is also helpful if you have too many ideas to choose from because then it lets you see them all written out on one piece of paper and you might even see some other ideas that you didn't think of.
Now, like I said before, you just mix and match your ideas, finding the perfect combination of ideas that best suits your OC. It also helps to do research once you choose a time period, or if you have a futuristic setting you can base it off of a past theme for example, "Fallout 4" has futuristic settings but it's in the theme of the '50s and '60s.
