Surely, I'm not the only one that thought the year of 2016 was just a big BLAH. Whether it was the lost of a loved one, lost your job, or simply just didn't get the grades you wanted if you're in school. Guide your 2017 in the right direction by looking to God and trusting that he will point you in the right direction if you allow him to. Here are seven verses that give strength, comfort and hope for this year and all of the years to follow:
1. Galatians 6:9-10
Do not give up.
"So let us not become tired of doing good; for if we do not give up, the time will come when we will reap the harvest. So then, as often as we have the chance, we should do good to everyone, and especially to those who belong to our family in the faith."
2. Isaiah 41:10
Do not fear.
"Do not be afraid—I am with you! I am your God—let nothing terrify you! I will make you strong and help you; I will protect you and save you."
3. Jeremiah 29:11
You will prosper.
"I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for."
4. Zephaniah 3:17
The Lord delights in you.
"The LORD your God is with you; his power gives you victory. The LORD will take delight in you, and in his love he will give you new life."
5. James 1:2-4
Trials will produce patience.
"My brothers and sisters, consider yourselves fortunate when all kinds of trials come your way, for you know that when your faith succeeds in facing such trials, the result is the ability to endure."
6. Isaiah 40:31
You will find new strength.
"But those who trust in the LORD for help will find their strength renewed. They will rise on wings like eagles; they will run and not get weary; they will walk and not grow weak."
7.Philippians 4:6-7
God's peace will guard you.
"Don't worry about anything, but in all your prayers ask God for what you need, always asking him with a thankful heart. And God's peace, which is far beyond human understanding, will keep your hearts and minds safe in union with Christ Jesus."
