How Time Is Important In The First Weeks Back Of The Semester

It's that time of year where people are moving back to school and getting ready for classes to be back in session. There are two types of people in this situation: the type of person that has all their classes written down in their crispy new agenda, and the type of person that still hasn't unpacked from their summer vacation adventure. Regardless of which type of person you are, I think we could all use a little pep talk to get through the first couple weeks of classes.

Succeeding in the first couple weeks of school is all about time. Sure, you've been working with time all summer. You had to plan what time to leave for your vacation destination or you had to plan what time your favorite TV show would be on during the summer. You had to plan what time you have to reapply your sunscreen at the pool and you had to plan what time you would be meeting your friend at the movies. But using your time wisely in the first couple of weeks of college is a lot more important. This is when you make your normal. You get on the schedule the first couple weeks of school and that's the schedule that you'll stick with the rest of the semester. This is why planning accordingly for your first couple weeks of classes is so important.

You have to learn to balance your time. That means you have to plan when it is time for homework, when it is time to go to work, and when it is time to hang out with your friends. To any incoming freshmen, time will become your worst enemy and your best friend. To any returning college student, you'll understand when I say that this is your time.

The choices you make while attending college could affect you for the rest your life. Now is not the time to party and not the time to start slacking. Now is the time to prove to everyone out there that you are cut out for college. That you are ready to take on this life and succeed. It will not be easy, you will be tempted to do things like go out with your friends when you need to do homework and watch Netflix instead of studying for a test. If you can overcome these urges you will be successful in college. You need to be aware of deadlines and dates. In college it is easy for things to sneak up on you if you are not on top of things. No, that does not mean you have to spend all your time studying, all of your time in the library, or all of your time obsessing over your grades. That does mean that you need to understand what time of the day it is, if it is party time or if it is worktime.

So when going through your first couple weeks of the semester, you need to have one thing continuously going through your mind. You need to make time your bitch. You need to show time that you're not messing around and you are here to work. If you successfully showtime who's boss I guarantee that you will have a much easier time in college and getting through the first couple weeks of the semester than you would if you let time get the best of you.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
