Time For A New Season Of 'The Bachelorette'

As a the summer season approaches, so does a new season of the Bachelorette. I have been a fan of the Bachelor franchise from the beginning; I had strayed away from it for a few seasons because I felt it was becoming a bit ridiculous. I came back last season out of curiosity to watch Ben, a man dubbed the most perfect bachelor and I wasn't disappointed. Perhaps it's because Ben actually seemed like a decent human being unlike many other of the contestants before, as well as it seems like the show is finally ready to make fun of itself. The show's social media accounts will often make jokes about the seemingly cliché lines that often come out of suitor's mouths and definitely seems to encourage viewers to not take the process too seriously.

I am especially excited for this next series because Jojo was one of my favorite contestants from Ben's season. I think she is a good person and here for "the right reasons" and I look forward to tuning in each week. That being said, after this week's premiere there are definitely a few guys who stood out to me. Here are some of the ones that I think have a good chance to win her heart:

1. Jordan

After getting the first impression rose and the first "real" kiss on the show, he seems like an obvious front runner. But it's important to remember that it was Olivia who got the first impression rose in the last season and that turned out to be a train wreck. Also the fact that Jordan is an ex NFL quarterback and his brother is Aaron Rodgers can both be a positive and a negative, largely because it seems like he might just be on the show for fame and not for love. Something seems a little shady about him.

2. James Taylor

Personally, I think James is my favorite. He came out of the limo singing a song he wrote for her in a way that didn't seem cheesy and throughout the night he seemed to be a genuinely nice guy. And his curly hair definitely didn't hurt.

3. Wells

A cute radio DJ who seemed like he would be a lot of fun and nice to Jojo. Him bringing the group All 4 One definitely made a great first impression.

4. Robby

Professional swimmer who looked nice and seemed to get along with Jojo right off the bat. Didn't seem to be one of the guys who would start a lot of drama in the group, though the preview of future episodes seemed to show potential problems with an ex girlfriend which might be his potential downfall.

5. Chad

Jojo had an immediate attraction to Chad because she saw him as a bit of a bad boy. I saw him more as the season's villain and the guy who will start the most fights. All of his interviews already have him making tons of obnoxious comments about the other guys and how good he looks, so I'm prepared to hate him during his time on the show.

6. Luke

Cowboy from Texas who definitely seemed to get on Jojo's good side with a sweet and quiet demeanor. Being from the same state could prove to be very promising for his chances.

7. Nick B

Wore a Santa suit the entire first episode, which I would normally insist means he should leave immediately, but when his true self was revealed beneath the costume I saw a glimmer of potential.

8. Brandon

Brandon did little speaking in the first episode and is only on this list because of his amazing hair and icy blue eyes. Let's hope we see more from him in the future.

This is only a short list of potential suitors for Jojo and there is a possibility that someone I didn't notice in the first episode will make a much better impression as time goes on. But either way I look forward to another season of ridiculous dates, drama and love (as long as Jojo doesn't say it to two guys at the end like a certain dreamy past bachelor).

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
